important for the assessment of developmental functioning

Context is particularly important for the assessment of developmental functioning. As you have learned in previous modules of this course, cultural, environmental, and socioeconomic factors impact our assessment of developmentally normative expectations and behavior in adolescence and early adulthood. In this discussion, you will consider contextual factors and their impact on emotional development into young adulthood.

After reviewing the module resources, respond to the following:

  • How have expectations for early adulthood shifted across generations, and what factors contributed to these shifts?
  • What is the impact of various forms of media exposure on emotional development and emotional health in early adulthood?
  • Based on these observations, how do you think developmental expectations might further shift for the next generation of young adults?

In your response to your peers, offer additional insight on the impact of media. Be sure to support your perspectives with scholarly research.

  • Qualified for and enrolled in early intervention program in school district at age 2.5 years

  3. Choose and technologically outline one teaching strategy for skill acquisition for each of the target behaviors. Provide a rationale for the chosen intervention of the target behaviors chosen for acquisition which includes social validity considerations and how the intervention is supported by the evidence base.

If you were in Stan’s shoes, what would you most need to hear from the counselor in the first session to feel comfortable about engaging in therapy?

. What are the important characteristics of scholarly sources? Why are scholarly sources more appropriate for academic research than other sources such as blogs or newspaper articles?

  • Please google GCU Doctrinal Statement and Christian Identity and Mission and Doctrinal Statement

In a 750-1,000-word essay, synthesize the responses from your experiences and your interviewees to address the following questions. Make sure your responses are informed by information gathered from the interviews:

  • What were the roles and responsibilities of school counselors in your educational experiences or the experiences of those you knew?
  • In what ways has the school counselor role changed and developed over time? Provide specific examples from your experiences or the experiences of those you interviewed that demonstrate this evolution.
  • Compare the experiences from when you were a student in high school to the experiences of those you interviewed. If you do not have personal experiences, refer to the high school graduates’ experiences.
  • How has history, philosophy, and trends influenced current practices of school counseling and the school counselor’s role? Cite one to two scholarly resources to support your response
