Your week 8 paper will be a proposal for research. Use one of the topics listed in week 2 that you have not written about yet this term. Include an introduction, review of literature of 20 academic journal articles, a proposed methodology for your own research in the topic area where you see there is a hole in the body of knowledge. Think of your methodology section as an opportunity to show that you have researched the topic and see an area where more research would add to the literature. It could be a different population to be studied where you replicate another study. It could be something new entirely. Be thorough and complete. An A-level paper is one where your professor will be persuaded to approve your proposed area of study.

  1. Your paper must be at least 12 full pages long, not counting title page or reference pages.
  2. It should be thoroughly proofread and not contain any spelling or grammar errors.
  3. It should demonstrate to the best of your ability, the academic/scholarly writing skills presented in this class.
  4. It should use at least 20 different references.
  5. Remember to write like a graduate student in APA format.

Overview

In this course, you have explored your identity and how it pertains to justice, fairness, and equality in the classroom, the community, and your personal and professional lives. For this project, you will create a guidebook that will include aspects of social justice, intercultural competence in collaboration and communication, and how you use those interpersonal communication strategies to navigate conflict in your personal and professional lives. A guidebook has multiple benefits; in this case, it will become a resource of tools and tips, which you can continue to add to over time, that explains how you interact, build community, and collaborate with others from intercultural perspectives.

This course has introduced multiple concepts specific to emergency medical services (EMS) systems. This assignment will allow you to apply what you have learned to your own organization, specifically in light of your agency’s response to a natural disaster.

For this assignment, you will describe how you would use the information and knowledge gained from this course to assist with the development of a strategic plan for the next fiscal year with your own agency, keeping in mind how your agency would respond to a potential natural disaster. Think of the most common natural disasters that occur in the region of the country in which you live. For example, hurricanes are prevalent when one lives close to water, and tornadoes are common in the middle region of the country.
